STORY
During the World War I period, officer pistol holsters were quite widely used. These holsters were designed to carry and protect officers’ handguns.
Officer pistol holsters were usually made of leather or some other durable material. Usually, the pistols issued to officers would be of a certain standard and the holsters would be attached to the waist or strap of the officers, ensuring that the pistol would be easily accessible.
One of the most important strategic points of the Dardanelles War is the Conkbayırı hill in the Anafartalar region. On this hill, the Ottoman officers used their pistols as well as their rifles. Officer pistol holsters played an important role in this war for carrying and protecting officers’ pistols.
