STORY
During the 19th century, the Officer Uniforms of the Ottoman Empire were clothes that usually reflected the traditional Ottoman style and had moon and star motifs on the buttons.   These uniforms usually consisted of dark colored and long jackets. On the shoulders and collars of the officers, there were gold embroidered moon star epaulettes and embroidered stripes, these stripes indicated the rank and duties of the officers. The jackets of the uniforms were closed with gold embroidered buttons on the front and these buttons had moon and star motifs. In addition, Ottoman officers often wore fez or hats and used gold-embroidered belts and swords that completed their uniforms. These uniforms were important symbols reflecting the formality and power of the Ottoman Empire and represented the reputation and authority of the officers.
