Haci Kilic Mosque

Hacı Kılıc Mosque and Madrasah are located in the district of Kocasinan, in the neighborhood of Gevher Nesibe, outside the castle walls. On the north of the mosque madrasah was built in 1249 by Izzettin Keykavus, the ruler of the Anatolian Seljuks.

The madrasah of the mosque, which is open to worship today, has attracted great attention by the students and professors of that period. Crown doors, east window and mihrab stone were carved with relief technique.

The eastern facade, unlike other facades, is covered with smooth cut stones. The madrasah was rebuilt in 1547.
